We tried out our Valentine's Sensory Box for the first time today and it was a great success. K played with it for about 45 minutes straight, and only stopped then because it was time for lunch and then naps. I filled it with as many red, pink, white, and heart shaped things I could find, including pom poms, pony beads, heart shaped stretchy things, porcupine balls, fake red jewels, etc. K helped me go on a "red hunt" the other day to find items to add to it, which he loved because red is his favorite color. We added all the red letters from our magnetic letters set, a red sensory ball, red wooden shapes from a lacing set, and a little red car. Most of it is stuff I already had, but I did get a few Valentine's themed things from the Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart.
K and J were so excited to find out what was in there!
They both really liked the little heart shaped clappers that I found at the Dollar Tree.
I included a wooden love spoon that my sister-in-law got us when she was visiting England. K had fun scooping the pony beads with it.
He put all the jewels in this little box then ran around in a circle playing it like a drum. I love his enthusiasm!
